Keynote: It is Time to Look Up and Move Forward

Vivian Childs
Candidate U.S House of Representatives for Georgia’s 2nd DistrictMotivational Speaker, Minister, and an American

Every election, Democratic candidates promise non-white voters the moon in return for their votes. And most of the time, a large majority of those voters comply. But the reality comes to light that these Democrats never deliver on their promises.  However, the tide is changing as many reliable Democratic voters are beginning to question the wisdom and motivations of a party that has gone off the deep end – and ask the question, “Hey, wait a minute — how’s that been working out for me?”  And replying with an answer of “It is not.”

Fast forward following the 2016 election in the first two years of the Trump Administration to include tax cuts and now with the signing of two historical international trade deals, manufacturers have already added 467,000 jobs— more than six times the number created in the previous two years of the Obama Administration.  Today, unemployment is at a 50-year low. More Blacks and Hispanics are working than ever before — not just in manufacturing either, but in every occupation across the spectrum from a service worker to entrepreneur to college professor and a myriad of technology positions. Wages are on the rise, especially for lower-wage jobs, and education choices are expanding. Families are gaining more control over their futures.

Rasmussen recently reported that Black support for President Donald J. Trump could be as high as 34% right now. Zogby found Black Voters who support President Trump is near 27%. In key states where the Black Vote is significant, such as Georgia, that might well be enough to put him over the top in 2020.

The reality is ALL Americans know that the economic prosperity that they are experiencing did not come about by accident. It is happening because we have a President and the Republican Party who is actually doing what they said would be done – Promises Made and Promises Kept.
